Happy New Year everyone!
So far this year I have been hard at work with curriculum design, Yoga Alliance applications, writing projects, traveling and teaching. In the midst of all the logistics and planning that my job involves, I have been processing some very big life changes that are both personal and professional. I am in a time of great transition that feels like very fertile soil in which to plant the seeds of Possibility. I capitalize Possibility on purpose because, when written like that, it suggests that the possibilities I am we talking about are big. Or perhaps I should say Big.
For several months before my spiritual teacher passed there was a quote on the refrigerator in his kitchen that said, “What can we create from nothing, without a filament of the past?”

As inspiring and lofty as yoga teachings can be, fundamentally yoga is a practical path that is applicable to the here and now. Our pursuit of the higher aims of yoga exists in relationship to our skillful participation in life as it is. Our longing for the Divine lives in relationship with the sometimes petty desires and insecurities of our personality.
